Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will go head to head for the second time in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night in what is one of the most highly-anticipated heavyweight fights of all time
Tyson Fury is set to face Oleksandr Usyk in a much-anticipated rematch in Saudi Arabia. Usyk emerged victorious from their first encounter, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Following the fight, Usyk was compelled to relinquish his IBF belt, with Daniel Dubois being the mandatory challenger. Despite this, Usyk is arguably the most feared heavyweight globally, with Fury potentially being the only man in the division capable of defeating him. The pair participated in one of the sport's most unique face-offs this week, maintaining eye contact for an impressive 11 minutes and 20 seconds. Alongside their reputations, the fighters will be competing for a substantial prize fund. The purse for the rematch is rumoured to be around £150 million, reports Wales Online.
In the initial fight, the total purse was £116 million, with Fury pocketing 70% of that. However, after defeating The Gypsy King and holding the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, it is anticipated that the Ukrainian will earn significantly more than the 30% cut he received last May.
