Botswana’s Thapelo Monaiwa clinched bronze with 7.54 meters in the competition that featured 14 athletes from around the world armed with the same hope as Ubas. The pride of Misamis Oriental is now ranked No. 53 in the world but still has a long way to climb—he has to crack the top 36 to qualify for world championships set August 19 to 27 in Hungary’s capital.
