However, the heavy-handed champion appeared to make a more significant impact when he landed, and in the second round, his wrestling helped secure two takedowns. Adesanya had his best round in the fourth, seemingly battering the champion with combinations. Despite the bitter nature of the feud, Adesanya and du Plessis showed each other high levels of respect in the post-fight interviews.
