Cyclone Idai: UK charities launch joint appeal
An appeal to help the survivors of Cyclone Idai has been launched by the UK's Disasters Emergency Committee .
Aid workers in Mozambique say there are only two or three days of clean water left in the devastated city of Beira.In a statement, DEC said its members were working closely with national organisations to deliver emergency shelter kits, food, water purification tablets and medical help. The charities include Oxfam GB, Save the Children UK, Age International, British Red Cross, Cafod, Christian Aid and Islamic Relief WorldwideBroadcasters including the BBC will show the DEC fundraising appeals on Thursday.
