UK coronavirus death tolls hits 39,188 after 143 more deaths in England

coronavirus deaths in the UK has todayONS revealed the number of fatalities in England and Wales hospitals are now 24 deaths lower than the five-year average.

The figures today showed there were 2,589 deaths involving coronavirus in England and Wales registered in the week ending May 22 - the lowest weekly number recorded in the last seven weeks. Another 29 per cent were recorded in care homes with 5 per cent in private homes, 1 per cent in hospices, 0.4 per cent in other communal establishments, and 0.4 per cent elsewhere.

The total daily increase of fatalities yesterday was actually 556 up on yesterday after 445 earlier deaths in England were quietly attributed to the killer bug.The 111 figure that was originally published was for deaths recorded in the 24 hours between Sunday and Monday.
