BREAKING: Michael Gove said the figures 'are a powerful reminder' of the need to abide by Government advice to try and slow the spread of the infection
Chairing the daily Downing Street press briefing, Michael Gove said 113,777 people have so far been tested, with 14,543 of those testing positive – an increase of 2,885 over the last 24 hours. Of those, 759 have died.
‘The latest scientific analysis now is that the rate of infection has been doubling every three to four days,’ he added. ‘These figures are a powerful reminder of the need for all of us to act. We need to slow the spread of the virus and strengthen the NHS’s ability to protect us all.’
