The government has been accused of introducing “Covid ID cards by stealth” after it emerged that the NHS app, which has been showing people’s vaccination status for overseas travel, now includes a “domestic” section for use at venues asking to see a Covid pass. Alistair Carmichael, the Lib Dems’ home affairs spokesman, said: The government has just committed to vaccine passports by stealth. This deceitful move is deeply shameful.
