The UK is bracing for another onslaught of severe weather just hours after Storm Eowyn wreaked havoc across the country. Storm Eowyn , which brought wind gusts of up to 100 mph to Lanarkshire on Friday, left a trail of devastation. One fatality was reported, and homes and businesses sustained significant damage. Travel plans were also disrupted as flights and other transportation services were canceled.

Now, a new storm, named Herminia by the Spanish meteorological office, is poised to hit the UK and Ireland. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, effective from 8 am today, predicting wind gusts of up to 80 mph. The warning encompasses a broad swathe of the UK, highlighting the potential for injuries and even danger to life.Rain warnings are currently in place for eight areas: East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, North West England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber. Seven areas are under wind warnings: East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, North East England, South West England, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber. The South West is expected to bear the brunt of the storm, facing warnings of strong winds from 6 am until 11 am on Sunday, potentially reaching gusts of up to 75 mph. Further warnings remain in effect for the region from 6 am on Monday until 6 am on Tuesday. The Met Office emphasized the uncertainty surrounding the storm's track, stating that the strongest winds might only affect a narrow band within the broader warning area. They urged the public to exercise caution and be prepared for potential disruptions
