Keir Starmer needs to say 'what he really really wants' from Brexit reset
Keir Starmer, left, with European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels Two European Parliament committee chairs acknowledged that discussing the EU’s ask of easier youth migration to and from the UK was “challenging” for the Prime Minister.
But the UK has been cold on the idea, due to fears it will be perceived as opening the door to higher immigration. “The whole idea is to spend some time in this great country to enjoy the excellent universities and also, of course, improve English language skills.” McAllister called for more detail and “concrete proposals”, quoting the Spice Girls in telling the UK “tell us what you want, what you really, really want” as he calls for “more detail” and “concrete proposals”.
The document also calls for British universities to stop charging Europeans higher international student fees.
