A joint operation by the police and FACT has led to visits and cease-and-desist warnings for 30 suppliers of illegal streaming devices. This includes the seizure of digital devices and the arrest of a man from Newport, South Wales, on suspicion of illegal streaming activities.

Sellers of 'dodgy' firesticks that enable illegal streaming of paid-for content are facing police crackdown s across the UK. Thirty suppliers have been visited, issued with cease-and-desist warnings, and several have had their devices seized for forensic examination. A 42-year-old man from Newport, South Wales, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in illegal streaming operations, including the sale of illicit Firesticks.

The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), has also led to the removal of advertising for these services from social media platforms
