Middle East Airlines is still operating flights between the UK and Lebanon and was still running a normal schedule as of Friday afternoon. There has been no significant increase in demand for flights out of Beirut into the UK,But other airlines, including Lufthansa, have already suspended their routes to Beirut, Tel Aviv and Tehran due to the escalating situation in the Middle East.
The Cobra meeting followed talks between Mr Lammy, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his French, German and Italian counterparts, in a group known as the Quint, in Paris on Thursday evening.
