Family favourite supermarket Aldi has been crowned the UK's most-budget friendly supermarket yet again.
While the weekly shop seems to be getting more and more expensive every single time we head to the supermarket, there is some hope for shoppers looking for a bargain. That's because the UK's cheapest supermarket for August 2024 has been revealed – and it's beaten Lidl and Asda to the top spot.
Aldi also came out on top in previous months too – in both June and July. And it was also crowned the UK's cheapest supermarket overall in 2023.Where did other supermarkets rank? Next up, Lidl came in in second place. A basket of goods at the UK's second cheapest supermarket costs shoppers £111.88 through its Lidl Plus loyalty scheme, or £112.17 without Lidl Plus.
And Sainsbury's shoppers spent £123.75 in August if they had a Nectar card. Those without spent £129.63 – £5.88 more.
