Analysis of Government data showed sewage was discharged into waterways feeding the four new wild swimming sites for more than 2,500 hours last year 🔴 poppyeh reports:

Tim Farron, the Liberal Democrats’ environment spokesperson, said it showed the UK’s bathing hotspots are “being ruined by water companies” despite pledges by the Environment Secretary to clean them up. He claimed the level of sewage discharged into the new bathing hotspots last year showed ministers were “as bad as the water companies in allowing this scandalous sewage dumping to keep happening”.
