BREXITEER Tory MP Owen Paterson explained Britons could expect 'huge gains' once the UK takes control of its fishing waters and explore trade opportunities with nations outside of the EU.
Former Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Owen Paterson argued the UK must refuse to be forced by the EU into agreeing to remain a part of the Common Fisheries Policy as part of a Brexit trade deal. He described the EU's fishing controls as a"disaster" as he said the UK must be free to form its own fishing plan beyond 2020. He said: “The Common Fisheries Policy is a biological, environmental, economic and social disaster which cannot be reformed.
