Holidaymakers are warned to take precautions against thieves in hotels
UK tourists on holiday in popular Spanish resorts, including Benidorm, have been warned to take precautions when using hotel safes.
He warned tourists that thieves use certain techniques to remove a small amount each day. Frank shared a useful tip to help people monitor their saves. “What I also recommend people do is count the money you put in the safe, write on a bit of paper how much money that you’ve got in your safe, put that bit of paper to the front of the safe inside and then that way you know if there’s something missing from it, you won’t go back the next morning and think ‘Oh I didn’t think I spent that much money yesterday’, that’s what happens and they get away with it.
“So if they take it bit by bit, if you leave a 1,000 in there they’ll probably take 100, the next day you’re thinking I didn’t spend that much and then the next day they take another 100.
