The presence of cockroaches has increased by 20 per cent in just two years
UK holidaymakers have been warned of a rise of ‘cockroaches, rats and bedbugs’ in the Canary Islands . In just two years the presence of cockroaches in the Spanish holiday destinations increased by 20 per cent.
The figures come from the National Association of Environmental Health Companies . Reporting on the data, local news site Canarian Weekly reported that in some cases pest control companies operating in the region were found to be using “unauthorised or hazardous pesticides.”The publication said that the use of these chemicals “poses a significant public health risk, as these chemicals can lead to poisoning, skin irritation, and respiratory issues.
