PublishedA UK train manufacturer has opened a national training academy for apprentices at its site in Derby.The company said it was "vitally important" to give career opportunities to young people.
Alstom said it aimed to improve the experience of new starters following an investment of £250,000 over the past two years. The company said apprentices would be able to gain practical experience working on carriages before joining a manufacturing team and eventually working at one of its 30 UK sites.
