The anti-piracy organization FACT is cracking down on suppliers of illegal IPTV services and modified Fire TV Sticks, warning users of serious consequences for accessing premium content illegally. FACT collaborated with police to target 30 providers in a recent operation, issuing cease-and-desist orders and threatening prosecution. CEO Kieron Sharp emphasizes that using illicit streaming devices or subscriptions is illegal and risky, potentially exposing users to malware, scams, and data theft.
UK residents are being urged to steer clear of 'dodgy' Fire TV sticks or face harsh penalties. Anti-piracy organisation FACT has announced it is ramping up its efforts to clamp down on suppliers offering 'unauthorised access to premium content, including film, television and live sports'.
Kieron Sharp, CEO of FACT, warned that those found distributing or using illicit streaming devices or illegal IPTV subscriptions will face 'serious consequences', reports Birmingham Live. He added: "If you're supplying or using illicit streaming devices or illegal IPTV subscriptions, take this as a clear warning: you are breaking the law and risk facing serious consequences. We will continue working with police to track down and shut down these illegal operations."
