The latest MetDesk snow probability maps show that parts of Scotland could see around 66 hours of snow in the coming days
As we move into autumn, weather maps are transforming into a kaleidoscope of colours; red, yellow, blue and even purple. The purple hue on WXCHARTS' forecasts signifies snowfall.
Snow is forecasted to descend in northwest Scotland, including locations such as Fort William, Inverness and Ullapool, while rain is expected in east Scotland - Aberdeen, Fraserburgh, and the Grampians. Wales will see temperatures ranging from 4C to 6C and Northern Ireland, the midlands and East Anglia will sit between 5C and 8C. The south of England will experience temperatures between 7C and 10C.
As we look ahead to the Met Office five-day forecast, tonight promises heavy showers that will gradually ease off in eastern parts, while gusty winds persist. Those clear moments will come with scattered showers sneaking inland around the southwest and northeast.
