Groundwater levels continue to rise after heavy Boxing Day rain but new year forecast to be dry
The wet weather is expected to ease into the weekend but groundwater levels are continuing to rise in parts of southern England after prolonged spells of rain, and the Environment Agency has warned people to expect flooding in 32 areas.
