Thunder storms and lashing rain are set to continue to pummel the UK as Britain's dank and dismal start to the summer season continues, the Met Office has warned.
England was rocked this morning by 50mph winds and lashing rain, which prompted an urgent warning by the Met Office.
The alert was stood down just before midday. But forecasters have now warned there will be little let up for the UK, with the unseasonably dank weather set to remain unsettled for the rest of the week.Thundery storms are set to roll in later this week, with the worst of the weather predicted to strike much of the UK on Thursday
Mr Dixon said the weather on Tuesday and Wednesday will remain generally dry in the west, with some rain in eastern parts of the UK.He added there would be a 'more unsettled weather regime' on Thursday and Friday and heading into the weekend with 'thundery showers' in the south-east of England on Friday.
