The Met Office has issued two new ultra rare amber rain alerts with maps showing which areas will be hampered the hardest.
Britain will be lashed by more torrential downpours later today with a chance of tornadoes and lightning as up to four inches of rain is set to batter the country.
The River Thames breaches its banks after the days of heavy rainfall flooding the surrounding car parks, fields and Thames Path Warnings will come in force in the Midlands and south of the country at 6pm today and will last for 12 hours. 'Some places, especially across central and eastern parts of the warning area, are likely to receive 30-40mm in three hours or less, and perhaps 50-60mm or more in around six hours.
The Environment Agency has 27 flood warnings in place across England, meaning flooding is expected and 67 flood alerts, meaning flooding is possible.Earlier today three separate yellow rain warnings were issued for the UK. Some communities could even be cut off by flooded roads after parts of the country saw twice the average monthly average rainfall in 48 hours earlier this week.
