Russia has admitted that Ukraine has struck and damaged a third bridge over the Seym river in the Kursk region, threatening to leave“On August 18, as a result of targeted shelling with the use of rocket and artillery weapons against residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the Karyzh village…a third bridge over the Seym river was damaged,” said a spokesperson for Russia’s Investigative Committee.
“The enemy is cutting off the logistics of quite a large territory bordering Ukraine,” said Russian war correspondent Alexander Kots, suggesting this could preface a further assault to isolate the Glushkovsky district south of the river. “We’re waiting for a blow from one more side.” “Conscripts in the Kursk region surrender by the thousands because they want to live,” he posted on X. “Thousands of regular troops are about to be surrounded and nobody cares about them. Everything happens strictly according Putin’s plan that simply does not exist.”Russian media suggested that the destruction of bridges could allow Ukraine to claim more Russian territory.
