Vladimir Putin may be trying to 'temper expectations' after Russian operations failed to make significant gains in its offensive operations. Meanwhile, three Ukrainian children taken to Russia are due to be released to Qatari officials.
A woman has been detained by the Security Service of Ukraine for 'spying' for Russia in Kherson. The 'traitor' has been accused of helping Moscow pinpoint its attack targets in the city. She allegedly recorded the locations of Russia's strikes and sent reports of the damage they had caused.
This helped Moscow's troops 'adjust their shelling on the critical, social and residential infrastructure of the regional centre, as well as on the locations of Ukrainian troops', the SBU said. 'The invaders used multiple rocket launchers, barrel artillery and kamikaze drones to attack the city,' it added. The woman apparently started working for Russia 'on her own initiative' in June, it said. She is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment if found guilty.
