Russia 'unlikely' to breakthrough in Donetsk after suffering heavy Navy casualties
08:15:01The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has posted pictures of Kyiv from overnight.
The MoD says that both sides are committed to the battle for Donetsk with large commitment of forces on both side. "We have allied commitments, and we are strictly following and will follow the spirit and letter of international treaties to which we are parties."In his nightly address, Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the continuing power supply problems in parts of Ukraine - a result of Russian strikes on critical infrastructure.
"If consumption increases in the evening, the number of outages may increase. This once again shows how important it is now to save power and consume it rationally." He mentioned the export grain initiative from three Black Sea ports, which he said sent about 12 million tonnes of food to the world market. More than 2.5 million tonnes are for countries desperately short of food, he added.
He added:"All of us together do not just send Ukrainian foodstuffs to those countries that suffer the most from the food crisis."If it weren't for Ukrainian food, if it weren't for our joint leadership with our partners, social stability in such regions as North Africa or the Middle East would not have been maintained.Mr Zelenskyy met the prime minister of Belgium and the prime ministers of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania on Saturday.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, referring to the Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, said: "Once they wanted to destroy us with hunger - now, with darkness and cold. The photographs below capture Ukrainian troops preparing military drones for test flights in the east of the country.
