General Sir Richard Barrons, co-chairman of Universal Defence & Security Solutions, has given us an update on the situation on the ground in Ukraine.
Writing for the Centre for European Policy Analysis, Lt Gen Ben Hodges has concluded that"the Russians are in trouble, and they know it", writes"Russian generals are running out of time, ammunition, and manpower,” he assessed. Lt Gen Hodges caveated his predictions of Russian collapse with a call to the US to"push the gas pedal to the floor now, immediately" and"exacerbate their manpower problem".
This morning, more than 3,000 cars arrived in the southeastern port city of Zaporizhzhia, according to CNN, which has cited a message from the head of the regional administration's Telegram channel.Separately, Mr Starukh said Russian forces had targeted two sites in Zaporizhzhia, including the city's railway station. He said these were the first civilian sites to be hit in the city, but there were no reports of any casualties.
