Sofiia Volovyk walks 600 miles from Wiltshire to raise money to help other refugees.

Sofiia Volovyk planted the Ukrainian flag at the summit of Ben Nevis at the end of her 600-mile trekA Ukrainian woman has walked 600 miles from Wiltshire to the top of Ben Nevis to raise money for other refugees.

An injury and the death of Queen Elizabeth II delayed the final leg in climbing the highest peak in the UK.Determined to complete the trek, having delayed in September 2022 out of respect to the Royal Family, Ms Volovyk set off on the King's Coronation day to finish the last gruelling 200 miles . "I, and many other Ukrainians, have dealt with significant trauma in dealing with the war that Russia started in March last year," she said.

Ms Volovyk finally climbed to the summit of Ben Nevis in Scotland on Tuesday in deep fog, high winds and in more than a foot of snow and freezing temperatures.
