The contentious decision to remove the pre-season competitions from the GAA calendar for 2025 is one that should be reversed for 2026 according to Ulster GAA secretary Brian McAvoy.

“As the body responsible for championing the welfare of their members, there is an onus on the GPA to ensure that their members adhere to the ‘return to train’ date. The date agreed by Central Council for the return to ‘collective training’ was December 7 for senior inter-county teams. Did this happen?
