Antonio Guterres spoke ahead of the COP27 summit in Egypt, amid growing frustration among poorer countries who contribute little to emissions but suffer more from the effects of climate change.

Going into that summit, poorer nations again pushed for financial help from developed countries, calling for a loss and damage fund to compensate them for irreparable climate-related damage.Advertisement
