Una Healy has revealed the emotional toll of filming Celebrity Bear Hunt , confessing to post-traumatic stress disorder ( PTSD ) and recurring nightmares. The former Saturdays singer, now 43, participated in the grueling Netflix reality show that has been compared to 'I'm A Celebrity on steroids'. The series threw 12 celebrities into the heart of Costa Rica's jungle, where they faced extreme weather, physical challenges, and the constant threat of being hunted down by adventurer Bear Grylls .
\Una praised the comprehensive aftercare provided by the show's producers, including counselling and psychiatric support, stating that Bear Grylls himself had prepared them for the transition back to normal life. She acknowledged experiencing a mild form of PTSD and said, 'He actually prepared us for the outside world afterwards, to get back to reality. Which I did experience a mild form of PTSD,' she told The Sun. 'And he said that can happen.'\The singer explained that the 'aftershocks' were a natural consequence of returning to a familiar environment after adapting to the intense jungle experience. She shared, 'It’s very natural because you’re coming back into your natural environment. But you’ve adapted to this whole new way of life. So he prepared me for that and I had it. I had a few aftershocks and nightmares and stuff.' Una emphasized that Bear Grylls played a vital role in helping them cope with the psychological impact of the challenges they faced. She recalled, 'He was a really good one, where he’d bring you back up again, and you’d just be like, “Yeah, come on, I can do this,”' \ The Netflix show premiered this week with a star-studded line-up that includes Holly Willoughby as the host, alongside Bear Grylls leading the hunt. Joining Una Healy are celebrities such as Shirley Ballas, Mel B, Boris Becker, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Steph McGovern, Danny Cipriani, Big Zuu, Joe Thomas, Lottie Moss, Kola Bokinni, and Leomie Anderson. The series features intense moments, including abseiling face-first into a cliff, near-drowning experiences, and even encounters with a crocodile.
