Channel 5’s new TV film begins three months into the search to find Madeleine McCann

The drama looks at official statements and recorded testimony Kate finds herself treated as an official witness as public support turns to scrutiny after the world’s media report on forensic evidence, leaked by the police, apparently implicating the McCanns. The series synopsis adds: “Detectives told her they had evidence that would prove her involvement in the disappearance, and if she didn’t confess she would face murder charges.
The drama focuses on a 48-hour period that threatened to halt the search for Madeleine, and which left the McCanns fighting for their freedom. ”Playing Kate is Laura Bayston, who Channel 5 said delivers a ‘raw and visceral performance’. The actress is best known for playing Babs in the second season of Jodie Comer’s Killing Eve. , Doctors, and Casualty.
Speaking about playing Kate, Laura said: “"It was all emotional, but when Kate is presented with her offer by the police, which is to admit guilt.
