Snapped in the summer of, the colourful images capture all the joy of the Hillington Park Church summer fayre being held in a school playground on Berryknowes Road in the city's southside.
"A lot of time and effort was put in to decorating the stalls and setting them up. People really took pride in it all. It takes me back to an era when folk put more time into fundraising events for the church.The photos are especially poignant for Alan, as he makes a cameo appearance in several of them.to take a step back in time and receive all the latest content direct to your inbox.
"Although it was a pleasant day, standing wringing wet as a 16-year-old did take its toll. All of the photos were taken by my father bar one - as he also threw a sponge - you can see the relish on his face!
