The manufacturer of brands such as Dove and Domestos says it will recycle more plastic than it sells.
Media playback is unsupported on your deviceUnilever, which owns brands like Surf, PG Tips and Walls, has said it plans to halve the amount of new plastic it uses over the next five years.But Unilever's boss, Alan Jope, has told the BBC he plans to slash that figure by using more recycled plastic, creating more reusable bottles and finding other alternative materials.
Meanwhile, Nestle announced that it would phase out all non-recyclable plastics from its wrappers by 2025 and Coca Cola has said that it willit uses in the 200,000 bottles it makes every single minute by next year.
