United Way says it needs more state funding to support its 211 helpline which connects Pa. residents with resources for housing, food and utilities.United Way of Pennsylvania representatives asked the General Assembly on Wednesday to allocate an additional $1.2 million annually to fund its 211 helpline.
Rotz told PennLive that the additional annual allocation would go toward the helpline’s infrastructure and employee salaries. Pennsylvania’s budget is due June 30. “We want to help to get the word out that PA 211 is available,” Rotz said. “We bring together the best of technology and people to help Pennsylvanians meet their basic needs and advance on a path towards financial stability.”, connects Pennsylvanians to financial resources, such as utility bill payment assistance and food pantries.
