The end of August means changes to many claims for Universal Credit, Child Benefit and Child Tax Credits from the DWP and HMRC

The Department for Work and pensions is cutting Universal Credit and Child Benefit payments for thousands of families from today.

Parents will need to notify HMRC if this is the case. Guidance on GOV.UK says Universal Credit will include additional amounts for your children until the end of August following each child's 16th birthday. The two-child limit on Universal Credit payments means you will not get extra money for any more than two children unless they were born before April 6, 2017; you were already claiming for three or more children before that date; or if exceptions apply such as multiple births, adoption, guardianship or non-consensual conception.

If your child is over 16 and stayed on in education or training but has now finished or dropped out, Child Benefit payments will stop on whichever of these dates comes first:
