Witnesses told police they saw a man speeding on an illegal dirt bike while weaving in and out of groups of people before the freshman from Long Island was struck and thrown in the air.
Wednesday, May 1, 2024 10:14PMA University of Albany freshman from Long Island was struck and injured by a dirt bike over the weekend.She was found in the roadway with a serious head injury and fractured leg. Her father says she is now in a medically induced coma with bleeding on the brian.
The suspect got away after striking the victim. She was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital and is listed in critical condition. "When he saw I wasn't moving out of the way right away, he swerved right into her," Gonyo said. "Me and her roommate Lizzy were yelling at him that you can't leave, and then he flipped us the bird and kept going."
