Ben Grundy has big ambitions after stepping in when a match official did not turn up.
A teenage football referee who took charge of a football match after an official failed to turn up has set his sights on the Premier League
But the University of Northampton student had to deal with a floodlight failure just 15 minutes into the match between Cogenhoe United and Aylestone Park.Mr Grundy had not been due to take control of the match on 5 March, but the designated referee failed to turn up. He said it was a completely different experience to refereeing a Sunday league game and that standing in the tunnel holding the ball before the game was nerve-wracking.
