Nayve is the associate vice president for community engagement and anchor initiatives at the University of San Diego and lives in La Mesa. Jennifer Turner, also known as Mama J, is a community historian who you can find telling stories and sharing her wisdom in the Community Book Center on Bayou Road in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Linda Vista is a beautifully diverse neighborhood with a long history of creating community for resettled refugees and migrant worker populations. Recognizing the imperative for a deeper connection and partnership between University of San Diego and Linda Vista, the Center for Community Service Learning was created in 1986, where I have the privilege of working today. The center became, and remains, a hub for connection with the community.
