Wed, April 10th 2024 at 7:46 AM Police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead inside a Penn Township home Wednesday morning.

According to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department, officers responded to a residence on the 300 block of Sun Hill Road at approximately 4:05 a.m. for reports of a shooting.Police say early investigation suggests a "domestic argument" between the couple led up to the shooting.Names of the deceased have not been released.

UPDATE | Northern Lancaster County Regional Police investigators report that Mark E. Shepherd, 71, and Diane L. Shepherd, 63, were the two fatally shot victims following a "loud domestic dispute". Police determined that Mark Shepherd fired multiple shots at Diane using a revolver handgun. Police say Mark Shepherd then used that same handgun to take his own life.

Emergency crews attempted to apply treatment, but both parties were fatally wounded and succumbed to their injuries. Family members shared with police that they heard an argument between Mark and Diane before shots were fired.
