According to a social media post from Marana Police Department, the father of the 2-year-old girl arrived home while she was asleep in the vehicle.
The child's mom arrived home soon after. That is when the child was discovered in the vehicle, which was no longer on and the air conditioner no longer running, the news release said. Police say the girl's father left the girl in the car for approximately 30 minutes to an hour with the car running and the air conditioning on, but when he returned to the vehicle the car and air conditioning were off.
