Commuters are being advised to allow an extra time for their journey
According to National Highways East Midlands, delays are building on the northbound carriageway, to exit the motorway at Junction 23A and Junction 24.
National Highways said: "Heading to Download Festival today? Please be aware there are delays of at least 30 minutes to exit the M1 northbound at J23A and J24."open at 12pm on Wednesday with the entertainment taking place between Thursday, June 8, and Sunday, June 11. Those heading to the event, or attempting to exit the M1 at Junctions 23A and 24, are asked to allow extra time for their journeys, with delays expected to last throughout the day.
