Residents in the areas surrounding My Motel Paisley have called for Renfrewshire Council to shut the facility after a man was left unconscious during a daylight attack.
News calls for the 'immediate closure' of a Paisley motel acting as homeless accommodation have been made amid fear that someone could be "killed".
“The disruption and violence caused by residents of My Motel is escalating,” they told the Paisley Daily Express. “Following the serious assault last Wednesday, a neighbour witnessed a My Motel resident suffering an overdose in the bus stop across the road. They continued: “The council have failed us. They have failed their duty of care for the local residents who live in this area. Other council areas are dumping their problem cases here and Renfrewshire Council are allowing this to happen.
He said: “There’s people in here who steal from vulnerable residents who are fired in here as well. It’s a mix of people fleeing domestic abuse, genuine homeless and bangers straight out of Low Moss – you don’t know the half of it. Mr Findlay added: “While local people rightly expect a swift and robust policing response, they should not be expected to live with constant violence, drug dealing and other crimes on their doorsteps.
