Thousands of Brits risk losing a vital winter payment worth £300 if they do not apply for a specific benefit soon. The deadline for Pension Credit applications to qualify for this year’s Winter Fuel Payment is coming up - on September 20.
To qualify for the up to £300 payment, individuals must have been receiving Pension Credit - valued at £3,900 - or any listed qualifying benefits during the week of September 16 to 22.
Pension Credit gives you extra money to help with your living costs if you’re over State Pension age and on a low income.
