'We are warning parents of the dangers of unregulated vapes and liquids after a number of young people became ill'
Police have issued an urgent warning over unregulated vapes after several children have fallen ill in the last week.
According to Lancashire Constabulary, one child lost consciousness for a period of time after using one of the dodgy devices. An investigation is underway regarding the circumstances, but these are currently being treated as isolated incidents.It is the second time the force has issued a warning of this kind, after several youngsters fell ill after smoking vapes contaminated with drugs in the Morecambe and Lancaster area.
"The pupils experienced dizziness and heart palpitations and in one case, a child lost consciousness for a period of time." Safer Neighbourhoods Inspector, Jon Cisco, said: “The legal age to use vapes is 18 but we know that in some cases irresponsible retailers have failed to uphold this rule, selling vapes and vape products to children. Not only is this illegal but it also presents a real health issue to young people who could become very unwell by these unregulated products.
