The government has issued a warning to all parents ahead of Halloween on October 31. Tonight, millions of youngsters will be dressing up to go out trick or treating.It comes after tests on kids' Halloween costumes came back with worrying results.
Now the OPSS is urging the public to always buy costumes from trusted sources and take care when near fires, particularly open flames.Graham Russell, OPSS Chief Executive, warned: 'Fancy dress can be an enjoyable part of Halloween, but our tests show many costumes for sale, particularly those online, pose serious risks to young children. Please take extra care before you buy.' An expert revealed more hidden dangers of kids' Halloween costumes.
They are often made with thick materials and have small breathing holes, that can restrict airflow and affect a child's breathing.
