The US Navy has deployed its latest laser-equipped warship, the USS Preble, to Japan as part of its strategy to counter China by 2027.
As the US Navy announced its Project 33 to confront China by 2027, the service recently took a first step by sending a warship equipped with high-energy lasers to Japan .
The Navy announced then that the USS Preble would replace the USS Benfold , which was set to leave Yokosuka and move to Everett, Washington.emphasized the deployment’s significance, stating that Preble’s forward presence would strengthen national security, defend strategic interests, and uphold Washington’s commitment to defend Japan.
