U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visited the Susquehanna Valley on Tuesday, touting the impact of federal funding and recent actions by President Joe Biden's administration on the region.The nation's top transportation official first visited Lancaster to highlight how federal funding has been used to create bike lanes and other improvements.
Buttigieg said he couldn't discuss a project with an active application but noted he's heard from a number of Pennsylvanians, including Gov. Josh Shapiro , about the need for support.'We've heard a lot of excitement and passion about that project in the community,' he said.Buttigieg's visit comes months ahead of Biden's rematch with former President Donald Trump in the 2024 general election.
