Boosted by rapper Flavor Flav and Guy Fieri’s “Flavortown,” the United States remains an Olympics juggernaut on track for a spot in the gold medal game for a fifth straight Olympics. The Americans are 5-0 so far in 2024 with their hardest-fought contest of the group coming in the quarterfinals, 5-4 over Hungary. Maggie Steffens scored twice in that matchup.
Australia has played in a medal game in four of six Olympics to this point and could be on track for a fourth, regardless of outcome against the favored Americans. The Australians are also unbeaten so far with their share of tangles in outlasting the Netherlands and Hungary to close out Group A play. They took down Greece, 9-6, in the quarterfinals.The United States and Australia are set for a 1:30 p.m. ET start on USA Network.
