The Copper Hills High School sophomore has faced immense challenges in his young life, losing his father in 2017 and his mother just last year to drug addiction.Before his father passed away, he promised a 9-year-old Adam that he would sign him up for hockey. Adam's talent and story caught the attention of Utah Oval Hockey Director and Coach Josh Anderson about four years ago.The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation recognized Adam's potential and awarded him a scholarship, covering his fees.
For Adam, the ice is where he can escape, build friendships, find community, and discover his purpose.His grandmother, who now raises Adam and his sister, finds solace in his dedication to the sport.
