Though no Roadrunners were selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, San Antonio natives Rashad Wisdom and Brandon Matterson quickly found landing spots.

Two UTSA products and San Antonio natives landed NFL opportunities as undrafted free agents Saturday, as safety Rashad Wisdom signed with Tampa Bay and defensive tackle Brandon Matterson inked with Denver . Wisdom, a 5-foot-9 Judson product, finished his career as UTSA ’s all-time leader in tackles and solo tackles , playing 57 career games as he held down a starting spot for most of five seasons.

He earned first-team all-conference honors in three of his final four years, missing the mark only in 2022 after sitting out half the year due to injury. He amassed 13 tackles for loss, four sacks, five forced fumbles, five interceptions and 14 passes broken up through his career. Matterson, who played at Brandeis, spent six years at UTSA, totaling 100 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks with three forced fumbles and 14 quarterback hurries.
